artistic biography
Laura Lobos is a Chilean painter whose artistic training has been primarily self-directed, complemented by studies in drawing and painting at Fullerton College in California and the Yarnell School of Fine Arts in Oklahoma, USA.
She currently lives in Chile and works from her studio in Algarrobo.
Throughout her practice, Laura Lobos has explored diverse styles and techniques, creating complex worlds that are at times abstract and impossible, yet perceived by viewers as deeply real and familiar.
Her work primarily incorporates acrylic paint, altered paper, textiles, and organic materials. This combination enhances a highly expressive visual language in which color, form, and the superimposition of planes and figures shape the meaning and character of her singular pictorial universe.
